Where are my notes?
Every note is a plain Markdown file in your own iCloud Drive. Open the Files app →
iCloud Drive → Rambledump. They are organised by year and month.
You can read, copy, back up, or hand them to any other tool without the app — that is the point of the format.
My notes are not appearing on another device
- Both devices must be signed into the same Apple Account with iCloud Drive turned on.
- The app shows a banner when it cannot reach iCloud and is saving locally instead. Nothing is lost —
it moves the notes over once iCloud becomes available.
- Large archives take a while on first launch. The banner reports progress.
I deleted a note by mistake
Deleted notes move to the trash inside your archive and stay there until you empty it.
Open the trash in the app to restore.
AI features
Classification and tidying run with Apple Intelligence on your device and need no
account or key. They require a device with Apple Intelligence available and turned on.
Chat — asking questions about your archive — needs an API key from OpenAI, Anthropic,
or Google. You enter your own key in Settings, and the app talks to that provider directly from your
device. There is no subscription and no server in between; you pay that provider for what you use.
The AI is not doing anything
- Check Settings for which provider is selected and whether a key is required for it.
- Cloud providers report their own errors (an invalid key, an exhausted quota) in the app.
- Apple Intelligence must be enabled in iOS Settings and is not available on every device.

내 노트는 어디에 있나요
모든 노트는 사용자의 iCloud Drive 안에 있는 일반 마크다운 파일입니다.
파일 앱 → iCloud Drive → Rambledump 에서 열 수
있고, 연·월로 정리돼 있습니다. 앱 없이도 읽고 복사하고 백업하고 다른 도구에 넘길 수 있습니다 —
이 형식을 고른 이유가 그것입니다.
다른 기기에 노트가 안 보여요
- 두 기기가 같은 Apple 계정으로 로그인돼 있고 iCloud Drive 가 켜져 있어야 합니다.
- iCloud 에 닿지 못하면 앱이 배너로 알리고 기기에 먼저 저장합니다. 사라지는 것은 없고,
iCloud 가 잡히면 그때 옮깁니다.
- 노트가 많으면 첫 실행에 시간이 걸립니다. 진행 상황은 배너에 표시됩니다.
실수로 노트를 지웠어요
지운 노트는 아카이브 안 휴지통으로 가고, 직접 비우기 전까지 그대로 남습니다.
앱에서 휴지통을 열어 복원하세요.
AI 기능
분류와 다듬기는 기기에서 도는 Apple Intelligence 로 동작하며 계정도 키도
필요 없습니다. 단, Apple Intelligence 를 지원하고 켜져 있는 기기여야 합니다.
챗 — 아카이브에 질문하기 — 은 OpenAI·Anthropic·Google 중 한 곳의 API 키가
필요합니다. 설정에서 본인 키를 넣으면 앱이 기기에서 해당 회사로 직접 요청합니다. 구독도 없고
중간 서버도 없으며, 사용한 만큼 그 회사에 지불합니다.
AI 가 아무 반응이 없어요
- 설정에서 어떤 제공자가 선택돼 있는지, 그 제공자가 키를 필요로 하는지 확인하세요.
- 클라우드 제공자의 오류(잘못된 키, 소진된 할당량)는 앱 안에 그대로 표시됩니다.
- Apple Intelligence 는 iOS 설정에서 켜져 있어야 하며 모든 기기에서 되지는 않습니다.
